Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping higher education and the workforce. As AI takes on an increasing share of cognitive and knowledge-based tasks鈥攑otentially handling up to one-third of the work traditionally performed by humans鈥攖he question for colleges and universities is no longer whether AI will change education, but how institutions should prepare students for a future where information is abundant and automation is commonplace.

This webinar, sponsored by Instructure, explores why liberal education is becoming鈥痬ore, not less, essential in the AI era. While AI can generate content, analyze data, and automate routine cognitive work, it cannot replace the distinctly human capacities that employers increasingly value: ethical reasoning, sound judgment, critical thinking, creativity, communication, and the ability to synthesize ideas across disciplines.

Jack Kirby (1917鈥�1994) was one of the most influential creators in American comic book history. From his early work in newspapers and animation to his collaborations with Joe Simon, his groundbreaking years at Marvel Comics, and his later work developing the 鈥淔ourth World鈥� at DC Comics, Kirby helped shape the visual language and storytelling traditions of modern popular culture.

This webinar examines Kirby鈥檚 career as a lens for exploring the comics medium and the collaborative nature of artistic production. Participants will consider how comic books differ from other forms of visual storytelling, how Kirby used the comic book page to construct narrative, and how questions of authorship emerge within the collaborative process of comics publishing. Educators will gain strategies for incorporating comics into humanities classrooms while encouraging students to analyze visual storytelling, popular culture, collaboration, and authorship.

The is pleased to announce a new OER for intermediate and advanced college-level Spanish. is an intermediate and advanced college-level Spanish OER grammar manual for second language learners and heritage speakers at the community college level. This second edition is fully aligned with and University of Kansas鈥� . The manual incorporates the ASCCC OERI IDEA Framework and UDL 3.0 principles for culturally responsive, accessible instruction. It includes 8 chapters plus a capstone chapter, 鈥淒e todo un poco鈥�, each with cultural readings, grammar explanations, and self-graded H5P activities that are available in LibreStudio. Instructors can download the manual or use the LibreTexts OER Remixer to adapt and customize content for their course management system.

This webinar will provide a practical introduction to the updated ADA Title II requirements and what they mean for California Community Colleges faculty. We will explore how the requirements apply across our entire digital landscape, including instructional materials, Canvas content, documents, videos, publisher resources, and other third-party tools.

Participants will learn how proactive accessibility and Universal Design for Learning can help remove barriers before they occur, support a wider range of learners, and make access part of everyday teaching practice. The session will offer clear guidance, familiar examples, and practical steps faculty can begin taking now.

ADA work is equity work. Together, we can build accessibility into our courses and systems so that all students have meaningful access from the start.
